A Little About Me,
I grew up in South Holland, Ill. -- a suburb on the South Side of Chicago. In a two-team baseball town, it is hard to avoid hearing about the Cubs or the White Sox. My mom grew up just blocks from Old Comiskey Park and shared all her tales of the Go-Go Sox of the 1950's with me, but I became more of a Cubs fan as the years went by.
When I realized I wasn't going to be taking Ryne Sandberg's place at second base and helping the Cubs to their first World Series win since 1908, I decided I needed to take a different route to the Big Leagues. I chose to go to Michigan State because of its great Journalism program and graduated this past May. Writing and watching baseball were always my two loves -- and I found a way to get paid to do both. Not a bad gig.
I worked for the Lansing State Journal during my last two years of college and wrote for MLB.com in Toronto during the summer of 2005. After briefly working for the Herald-Palladium newspaper in St. Joseph, Michigan, I assumed the MLB.com beat writing duties for the Toronto Blue Jays. I was married on May 27, 2005 to my high-school sweetheart, Kelly, and currently live in Toronto.
